THE ALIEN CITIZENS
My first year in the tertiary institution, I offered a course titled "citizenship education". My expectations of an engineering student ebbed cause I imagined strictly physics and mathematics.... I never knew the importance of the course and I want to believe the lecturers didn't know the importance also. And so I wasn't interested in knowing the practicals. Fortunately, the education board didn't even make provision for practicals in that course.... Don't blame me if I still decide to believe that the education board also doesn't know the importance of the course. I guess it was a usual copyright from UK or USA.
Solving the problems of Nigeria is as difficult as bisecting an ant to carry out a heart surgery or instead we could learn practical citizenship from the ants.
It wasn't your choice to be a Nigerian but God's choice. So why discriminate and hurt another Nigerian because of your choice of land, religion, career...... Do you place your choice above that of your creator?
Remember, You cannot succeed in a nation you don't love. Obama was the president of USA but still remains a son of Kenya..... The leopard can never change it skin. You can buy a house but you can't buy a home...... Nigeria is home!
ARISE O COMPATRIOTS
IT'S TIME TO BE COME PATRIOTS.

QUITTING ADDICTION AS EASY AS ABCD
Before ever thinking you can quit that addiction, it has to come from you, no one can force you into quitting what you don't want to quit. So it all starts with your decision to quit. And that ushers you into the ABCD step to putting a final stop to that addiction.
Yes!, quitting an addiction is as easy as ABCD
A-affirmation: Your mind is divided into three, the conscious, sub conscious and unconscious. But we shall dwell on the first two. Your conscious and subconscious mind work like a master and slave. The conscious is the master, while the subconscious is the slave, fortunately you can control your conscious but it's very difficult to control the subconscious. The subconscious is responsible for little things like blinking of eyes, hiccups..... Now the deal is, it is what your conscious wants that your subconscious brings to reality. Like it is said, "the power of life and death is in the tongue". Control your words, use affirmations like, I love reading, I love eating healthy and try by all means to eliminate negations like, I "don't" love video games, I will "not" eat junk food anymore cause it is what you mention that the subconscious picks whether it has a "not" or "don't" in front of it. So control your life by controlling your words.
B-believe- Believe is one of the greatest forces on earth. What you don't believe can't work for you. Believe today that you hate smoking or you hate watching porn and you'll be amazed at the mighty works the power of believe can do.
C-capture- it is not enough to believe without capturing your believe in your thoughts.
"as a man thinks so he is"-Holy Bible,
"you are what you think"-Buddha,
"what you think about, you bring about"- Vincent nightingale.
I believe my point has been properly delivered on this.
D-discuss- Be open to discuss your addiction with one who can help, your parents, your doctor, your spiritual heads..... You would be surprised to know how many people had battled such addiction in the past and that will give you a bit of relief knowing that you are not to be chastised and that there's a way out for you. But be careful who you discuss with, don't discuss your marrital issues with a single friend. Be wise.
While going through the ABCD process to quit your addictions, endeavors to put away things that can take you back, if you find yourself playing video games because of loneliness, then pick a book and go far away from your video game, if you watch porn when you are alone, try not to be alone, you could put a ban on all porn sites you know on your phone, use a password you'll never remember. To quit a bad habit, you have to replace it with a good habit. You could give yourself deadlines, like try going a week without eating junk and if you pass it add another week and another and another. If along the line you fall out and find yourself tasting a piece of cake before your deadline, it is not enough reason for you to give up because of that little mistake and then you go back to your old ways. It takes commitment and consistency. It takes 21-90 days to quit a habit. Be patient and consistent.
You might think, these are too easy, this must be a joke but here's one testimony out of the numerous testimonies where the ABCD rule worked. "there was a young guy who was bed-wetting for a long time after birth and whenever he was being asked when he was going to stop, he would always say at age 10, he affirmed it, believed it, captured himself not bed-wetting after age 10 although he was too afraid and embarrassed to discuss it but immediately he clocked age 10, he stopped bed-wetting, they were measures he took to achieve that but he achieved it with the help of the ABCD. So it's up to you.

SEVEN REASONS WHY YOUR 7years OLD RELATIONSHIP DIDN'T END IN MARRIAGE
Often times, you hear people say he/she broke my heart after so many years of dating. You wonder why it had to take that long before he/she realised they couldn't continue.
One thing to consider is, for the fact that it lasted for so long means there was love in that relationship.
Here are seven reasons why such relationships break up after so much time.
1. Lack of attention: At the first year of dating, you can't go a day without hearing from him/her but after sometime you realize you no longer text, make long calls or even chat. you feel the love is already there and so there's no need to care. But love is like a plant when you don't water it regularly, no matter the manure, it dies. So no matter your gifts, if there's no proper attention which is priceless, the love fades away.
2. Lack of communication: similar to number one, never stop communicating about the little things that happens in your life each day, be quick to tell him when that guy at the gym or that neighbour starts hitting on you, be quick to tell her when that her friend starts paying you unnecessary visits in skimpy clothes. Always seize an opportunity to remind your partner how much you love them.
3. Blurry vision of the future: you expected to own a house by 25 but you're 27 and you haven't gotten your home, she is expected to graduate at 23 but she's 25 and still in her finals. Always have this in mind: whatever steps are needed to achieve your goals are collective steps. You're not waiting for her and she's not waiting for you. You both are waiting for each other till the time is right.
4. The birth of imperfections: No one is perfect. Most times at the first and second year, you feel she's perfect or he's perfect and sooner than later, you start seeing the imperfections. Don't inhabit the mindset that there's someone out there who's perfect. If Adam was awake when God was creating Eve, I bet he would have placed an order of the kind of woman he wants. No one is perfect not even you, if you can leave with his/her imperfections or work towards mending it, do it for the sake of love. Cause if you go out and date someone in less than six months and get married, the imperfections will come up when you are married and it might be too late. The devil you know is better than the angel you don't know.
5. Look at how far you've come: most couples break up because they look at how far they have to go and not how far they've gone.
6. Revenge: She forgot your birthday is not enough reason to purposely forget hers. Two wrongs don't make a right. If he fell into temptation and begged for your forgiveness, if you must forgive, forget also. It shouldn't be a yardstick for you to hurt him in return, you're puncturing the love you both share.
7. Make good use of time: Never allow a new colleague, class mate or neighbor take so much of your time than your partner, especially if it's the opposite sex, infatuations and lust are the weeds in your garden of love, they are quick to choke your love.Beware!. Snatch every opportunity to pay her a visit, always discuss about the future and ways to get things right, read your partner like a book and know when to say "I'm sorry" .

STARTING A BUSINESS
Somewhere deep inside everyone,
there’s a potential entrepreneur. Humans have proven to be intelligent and
adaptable group of fighters and survivors. Most people can be successful
entrepreneurs if they really want to, it’s the WANT that stops them, they
confuse it with CAN’T. The truth is that you really can, but not without
sacrifices. After all is said, most people aren’t willing to dig in and fight
the long battle to becoming a successful entrepreneur.
The sky is big enough and there’s
space for every star. The question is, do you have what it takes to hang up
there as a star? Here are few questions to ask yourself before starting off on
the journey to success.
1. Are
you motivated to get things done? Not only do you have to be comfortable
motivating yourself, but also motivating others because you are about to be the
boss.
2. Are
you easily intimidated? Competitions will come knocking at your door step
daily, so get ready to face them.
3. Are
you a good listener? Part of being a good leader is to be a good listener.
4. Do
you know yourself well? Take an honest look at yourself. Having a solid
understanding of your own strength and weakness is a good advantage.
After critically examining yourself
in the above listed, here’s an entrepreneur’s first question.
WHAT BUSINESS IS GOOD FOR ME?
Making a career choice requires
honesty. Do you really want to be an attorney, a pharmacist? Or what you really
love is to become a baker, a photographer, whatever. Don’t be scared of the
transition from working in a bank to being a film producer. Of course, family
and friends might think you are crazy but you are the owner of your dream and
they are the spectators in your life while you are the player of the game.
Always remember that spectators don’t award medals. It is okay to take one or
two advice from family and friends, but if you feel your work piece is
balanced, then there’s no need to add a vice.
If like so many others, you don’t
know what you love, then think of it this way. You have enough money in the bank
to do whatever you love and no matter what, you can’t fail in whatever you
choose to do, what would you do? If you
love what you do, you will never work a day in your life.
WHAT TO CONSIDER BEFORE KICKING OFF THAT BUSINESS
People get excited when they feel
like they now have a great idea. Maybe they finally figured out the chemical
composition of their new product, or finally just got a perfect name for their
business. Whatever the last piece of your idea was, don’t let it excite you to
the extent that you get nothing done after that.
Before quitting your job to start
up your new business, you have to put a lot into consideration.
1. Do
you have enough money to live on while you start up? Can you pay your rent,
feed clothe yourself and other important life necessities while your business
kicks off?
2. Have
you checked out a perfect location for your business? A mechanic shop where
used parts are sold won’t make much profit in Banana Island; canoe selling
won’t go well in Sokoto as it would in the Niger Delta.
3. Don’t
test the depth of a river with both legs. If you have your day job, try working
on your new business at night or during the weekend while you still keep your
job. If you can manage this for just sometime, you would have successfully
maintained your life security while testing whether your new endeavor would
work or not.
4. Plan
the transition. Typically, things don’t always go as planned. You need to have
consistency in your plans. Always remember that there’s a big difference
between your business being cash-flow positive and being able to support
yourself.
WHAT NAME DO YOU GIVE YOUR NEW BUSINESS?
If you think naming children is
difficult, just try naming your business or product. The general intent of
business or product name is to describe the product or company while being
memorable and desirable to the person who sees it. A good name will draw people
to your product. Here are some few good product names, Coca Cola, Dunkin
doughnuts, Toyota. Something similar about those names is the rhymes. Your new
business or product name should be passing a message about your product to your
buyer. You won’t consider a name like black out beauty center for your beauty
Saloon or Missy Marie gym for a gymnasium you want to start up.
DO YOU NEED A BUSINESS LICENSE FOR YOUR LITTLE BUSINESS?
Naturally a big tree was once a
seed, do not expect that package water business to remain at its startup stage
where you, your family members, friends and few neighbors who know about it.
The growth might take you unaware and you wouldn’t want to run into license
troubles with the law enforcement agencies just when your business is about to
get to its stardom. So it is necessary to think of the tax payment policy,
government regulations like NAFDAC, SON and all before starting up your
business.
YOU HAVE GOT A GREAT BUSINESS IDEA! WHAT NEXT?

One of my favorite slogans is that
of the NIKE designer…… Just Do It. That’s what next, just do it, there’s never
going to be a perfect time, you have to take the time and make it perfect.
Start with what you have; don’t wait for what you don’t have. A wealthy
business tycoon in Lagos, Nigeria said, if you have an idea that will take five
million naira to start up, and you have just fifty thousand naira. You don’t
know what tomorrow holds but you have got today to yourself and what you do
today determine what you get tomorrow. Your destiny is simply a destination
which is determined by the directions you take today, which is a product of the
decisions you make now.
